Going crazy

Lately I've been feeling very thankful for my fabric stash. (I hardly ever throw fabric away unless it's a teeny-tiny scrap from a sewing project.)  It's coming in handy for my current project: crazy quilts.  I'm not actually making quilts though.  That would be much too tedious for my short attention span.

Here is my finished iPad cover.  I opted for a snap closure.  Just a quick little pop rather than that agonizingly irritating sound of Velcro coming loose.

Now I've moved on to 10" x 10" crazy quilt squares that I will make into purses.  I have 3 pieces with the patches all stitched on.  Now the fun part begins....the embroidery and beaded embellishments.  I will work on them as my arthritic sewing finger allows.  That finger used to work so well too.  Doesn't it know that I have lots more stitching to do?  Please, Lord, don't make me have to play Bingo.

The only real unfortunate part of the crazy-quilting process is the pile of fabric on the floor that requires being neatly folded and put back into the fabric-stash cubbies.....or not.

Anniversary snow

It's snowing today....which makes perfect sense.  It is Spring, after all....

Mr. Gadget and I are cozy and warm, and pleasantly settled into our his and hers recliners.....celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary.  And we're both fine with this low-key celebration because we're both good at celebrating in other ways all through the year.  As we get older, it seems that we don't need all the hoopla that we once did.  And gift-giving has changed too.  Just last week I gave Mr. Gadget a big bag of Snickers bars for his birthday...

I'm making progress on my iPad cover.
It's all sewn together and I'm putting a lining in.  Through pure luck, it fits like a glove.  I've decided to use a couple of snaps as closures.  I considered Velcro, but I've never cared for that Velcro noise.

I've decided to put bunny slippers on my needle-felted witch-in-progress.  This required a trip to the local felting store for some bunny-slipper pink.  I had none in my vast stash and no other color would do.
So now I'm going to go sit in my recliner next to Mr. Gadget (already in his recliner) and enjoy the rest of our anniversary.  If only I had some bunny slippers....
