Heading out to sea

Are you surprised?  Yes, Mr. Gadget and I will soon be heading to the cruise port and sailing off to Mexico.  So I thought I'd better pop in here to let you know, and to show you my latest crocheted hat.

It should fit a young girl, and it's purple--the universal favorite color of young girls...as I remember.  At one time Big City Girl was a lover of all things purple, but as she grew up she's taken after her father in being a lover of all things neutral.

So I'm off to finish packing, and I'll try to update the blog somewhere along the way.  From a deck chair.  If I'm not napping.

Resume play

I have no good reason for being away from the blog so long.  Well, except for reaching my 10-year bloggie-versary on the first of January and finding myself a little out of breath.  Now that I'm breathing more comfortably it's time to catch up. Mr. Gadget and I are still at the Calcondo where the weather is splendid.

I've been crocheting hats--some with flowers.  A needle-felted witch is underway, and I'm wondering how she'd look with a morning face, bunny slippers, and a cup of hot coffee.

I went to the local quilt show.  I'm more a fan of the unusual rather than the traditional.

Mr. Gadget and I drove to Malibu to meet up with a very nice couple we met on our last cruise.  We went to an Andy Warhol exhibit and then to lunch where the "in" crowd goes and where the floor is sand.

We found a new walking path on a bluff above the ocean.
We've met the new neighbor's cat, Parker (Parky for short).  He likes to visit.  Here he is resting and having a little cool-down on our tile floor. That's because he's tuckered out from walking on our furniture and prowling through our closets and cupboards.

So there you have it. Now, if you'll excuse me I'm going out to sit in the sun.  Did I mention the weather is splendid?
